Healing from a brain injury or concussion can be a difficult and long journey. The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury and raises awareness about the importance of brain health. LoveYourBrain strives to promote a world where everyone affected by TBI can fully access their resilience, connect with a compassionate community, and reach their full potential. The foundation offers many free and low-cost options to seek supplemental help and care as you heal.

I recently became a Clinical Connector with the LoveYourBrain, to help improve the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury and raises awareness about the importance of brain health. They offer free research-backed programs for people who have experienced TBIs and caregivers. They are filling a gap in community-based services and resources by providing programs that build community and resilience. They work closely with outpatient care providers to support the patient’s continuum of care.

You may be a good fit for programs offered through the LoveYourBrain Foundation. LYB offers a FREE 6-week yoga series in-person in Denver, Colorado called the LoveYourBrain Yoga Program, which is appropriate for individuals who have experienced a TBI (including concussion) and caregivers who are able to move without assistance, open to participating in group discussions, can follow instructions and regulate intense emotions, and are over 15 years old. For those located in Central Denver, sign-up with The River Yoga in Five Points for their next program starting on April 4th, 2022.

If you aren't able to attend The River Yoga's program in-person, LoveYourBrain also offers a FREE online 6-week program called 'LYB Mindset' which has several options of how to participate. 'Mindset On Your Own' is available to anyone at any time and includes weekly emails with 4 tools - educational video, yoga practice, meditation and yoga nidra. Additionally, individuals with TBI and caregivers can sign up for LYB Mindset with Group Discussion or LYB Mindset with Yoga which are interactive programs once per week online.
