Brain Injury Resources in Denver, CO and Beyond

Good news! There are extensive resources for brain injury survivors. Bad news - it can be an overwhelming process of finding the resources, understanding what is a good fit, and managing a sign-up process, especially with a brain injury. Many resources go unused, or under utilized, due to lack of guidance towards appropriate resources, help managing the practical side of signing up, and general encouragement to explore something new.

Most people think of a physical therapist as a medical provider that helps people exercise. But I see my role as so much bigger than that, especially when helping brain injury survivors navigate the already confusing healthcare system. There are days when sessions involve no exercise and instead consist of calling medical providers to collaborate on appropriate next steps, or writing a letter to apply for a grant to help with housing costs, or learning how to use the Uber app to assist with transportation. Establishing a foundation of safe housing, food security, and reliable transportation helps the healing process.

Even with the best support system, navigating life with a brain injury can be difficult and frustrating. Use this list below to help reduce the barriers of finding resources.
